Dr. Pallavi Manvar-Singh is a vascular surgeon and an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/ Northwell Health. She currently serves as an Associate Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program at South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, NY. She is a Long Island native and currently lives in Nassau County with her husband and their 3 children. 

Dr. Manvar completed her undergraduate education at Dartmouth College. She received her Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her General Surgery residency training at SUNY-University at Buffalo. She moved back to Long Island to complete her vascular surgery fellowship at North Shore/ LIJ hospitals.

Dr. Manvar specializes in open and endovascular treatment of pathologies of the aorta, conditions affecting peripheral and carotid arteries, veins, aneurysms, hemodialysis access, and rare vascular conditions, such as thoracic outlet and Nutcracker syndromes. Her professional interests include medical education, quality improvement in health care delivery, and clinical research. Dr. Manvar is a peer reviewer for 4 vascular journals and is a question-writer for the Vascular Education and Self-Assessment Program (VESAP) and the American Board of Surgery. She has served on the Simulation Committee and Constitution and Bylaws Committee for the Eastern Vascular Society and continues to serve on the Mentorship Committee for the Eastern Vascular Society and the Post-Graduate Education Committee (PGEC) for the Society for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Manvar is also the Chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) committee for the International Women’s Vascular Surgical Society.

Dr. Manvar’s research interests include vascular diseases in women. She has authored a book chapter on how diseases of the thoracic aorta present differently in women than men and has published a peer-reviewed article on sex-based outcomes of endovascular treatment of advanced peripheral arterial disease. She has given multiple presentations addressing the effect of underrepresentation and sex-disparities on vascular disease diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, Dr. Manvar is a Sub-Investigator in multiple clinical trials examining endovascular interventions in peripheral arterial disease, endovascular repair of aortic aneurysms, and deep venous thrombosis treatment and interventions.

Jennifer K. Svahn, MD, FACS, FSVS is a senior board-certified vascular surgeon who has been with Northwell Health for 7 years. Dr. Svahn is the Director of Vein Surgery at Northwell, one of only two IAC accredited vein centers throughout the entire Northwell system and the only one in the Western region. Dr Svahn has a particular interest in women’s health and serves on the steering committee and as a sub-committee lead for the Katz Institute for Women’s Health (KIWH) where she is also the creator and lead of the KIWH SWELL program (Services for Women’s Edema of the Lower Limbs). In addition to evaluating and treating patients with venous disease and lymphedema, Dr Svahn sees many women with lipedema in her practice.  Finally, Dr Svahn is a member of many regional and national medical and surgical organizations and holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Surgery with the Zucker School of Medicine at Northwell.
