Cardiology @South Shore Hospital

I am an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist at Northwell Health. I care for patients with end stage heart disease that may require advanced therapies such as heart transplantation or implantation of a mechanical heart pump. My areas of interest include cardiogenic shock, mechanical circulatory support, heart transplantation and cardiac disease in women. I was born and raised in Colombia. After completing medical school training in Colombia I moved to Boston, USA to continue my training. During my time in Boston, I had the opportunity to work in research at Massachusetts General Hospital and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. I also completed my internal medicine residency at Tufts University School of Medicine/Steward Carney Hospital. Subsequently, I moved to FL where I completed a cardiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center and advanced heart failure training at Mayo Clinic.

Senior Psychologist @Northwell Health

Dr. Jessy Levin, PhD, MPH is a Senior Psychologist at Northwell Health, directing the Northwell Psycho-Oncology program. She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at UMBC and her Masters of Public Health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. Her fellowship at Albany Medical Center focused on health psychology. She is an assistant professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She researches and has published on access to mental health services, particularly in people with co-morbid medical conditions, and integrated care models. She is frequently asked to lend her expert opinion to a variety of media outlets.
