Farzeen Firoozi, MD is the System Director of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at the Department of Urology at Lenox Hill Hospital. Dr. Firoozi is an expert in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for pelvic floor reconstruction. His clinical interests include urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, complex reconstruction of the lower urinary tract, and management of complications of vaginal and lower urinary tract surgery. After completing his urology residency at Albany Medical Center, Dr. Firoozi completed his fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic, with specialization in male and female voiding dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, incontinence, overactive bladder and neuro-urology — one of few fellowships formally recognized by both the American Board of Urology and American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Firoozi has pioneered, innovated and published new methods for the treatment of combined pelvic organ prolapse. In addition to performing the first ever reported transvesical Laparoendoscopic Single Site Surgery (LESS) for the management of vaginal mesh complications, Dr. Firoozi gained extensive experience with robotic and laparoscopic reconstructive surgery while at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Firoozi has presented at numerous national and international meetings, and won multiple awards for his work. He is an active member of the American Urological Association, International Urogynecology Association, and the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology.
He has been published in leading national and international journals including The Journal of Urology, Urology, The British Journal of Urology, Urologic Clinics of North America, European Urology, and the International Urogynecology Journal. Dr. Firoozi has also written many book chapters for some of the leading editors in his field.
Dr. Firoozi has recently published two textbooks, Female Pelvic Surgery and Interpretation of Basic and Advanced Urodynamics.

Dr. Danielle O’Shaughnessy, is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery (URPS). Dr. O’Shaughnessy earned her MD from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, in Brooklyn. She then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Northwell Health System and continued in the Northwell Health System to complete a fellowship in URPS. After fellowship, she joined Northwell Health Physician Partners in the Eastern Region. She currently has an office in Huntington and Bayshore and operates at both Huntington Hospital and South Shore University Hospital. Her research interests include optimizing surgical graft material for use in prolapse and incontinence and medical education. Dr. O’Shaughnessy is the Vice Chair of OB/GYN at Huntington Hospital and is actively involved in improving the quality of care. She is also the program director for the URPS Fellowship at South Shore University and Mather Hospital which began August 2023. Dr. O’Shaughnessy is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Urogynecologic Society and American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Paul Shukla, MD

Dr. Shukla serves as Regional Chief of Colon and Rectal surgery for Westchester. He sees patients and performs surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital, Phelps Memorial Hospital and Northern Westchester Hospital.
He also serves as Professor of Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
Dr. Shukla specializes in the treatment of colon and rectal cancers including advanced polyps unsuitable for colonoscopic removal, Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease, Diverticulitis, and complex pelvic issues.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shukla is a renowned researcher and educator. He is widely published with over 120 articles in peer reviewed medical journals and 17 book chapters. He has served as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Colorectal Diseases and as a member of the editorial board for the World Gastroenterology Organization (WGO). Dr. Shukla is an invited reviewer for many international journals and has been an invited lecturer at hundreds of meetings and conferences around the world.
