Paul Baron, MD, FACS

Dr. Paul L. Baron, MD, FACS, is Chief of Breast Surgery and the Director of the Breast Cancer Program at Lenox Hill Hospital/Northwell. Dr. Baron earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the Boston University Six-Year Medical Program and completed a general surgery residency at the Medical College of Virginia.
This was followed by the two-year Surgical Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He received the Business of Healthcare Certificate from the Carey School of Business at Johns Hopkins University. He is Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra. Dr. Baron focuses his practice on the care of patients with breast cancer and is active in clinical research.
Dr. Baron is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Society of Surgical Oncology, and an active member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons (ASBrS). In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Baron is actively engaged in advancing the fields of Breast Cancer and Genetics.
He has published more than 70 papers in peer-reviewed journals and regularly gives presentations to national and regional groups on breast cancer-related topics. He was selected by his peers to serve on the Commission on Cancer for the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
He serves on the American College of Radiology Appropriateness Expert Panel on Breast Imaging representing the ACS, was on the COVID-19 Breast Consortium Team representing the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), recently completed his 4-year term on the Board of Directors of the ASBrS, and was recently elected to serve as Chairman of the NAPBC Standards and Accreditation Committee.
Regina Jacob, MD, MSCE, FACP

Regina Jacob, MD is the new Medical Director of Cancer Survivorship. She is devoted to patient care throughout the cancer continuum. She has specific clinical research interests in posttraumatic stress disorder and the social determinants of health, as they pertain to health, disease, and patient care. As a general internist, Dr. Jacob brings her passion for preventative care to the realm of malignancy, starting before a new diagnosis by implementing high-risk screening protocols. Dr. Jacob also envisions cancer survivorship care to incorporate co-management throughout the acute treatment phase and into the post-treatment surveillance and maintenance phase.
Chika N, Madu, MD

Dr. Madu is the Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) / Northwell Health. She is also the Medical Director of the Florina Cancer Center at SIUH. In this role, Dr. Madu leads the vision, strategy, and development of programs aimed at exceptional multidisciplinary clinical expansion, research, education, and community engagement and serves as the physician liaison for the Staten Island cancer program, collaborating with leaders from the Western Region ambulatory team, Staten Island University Hospital and the Northwell health Cancer Institute. She also serves as the Chair of the Commission on Cancer at SIUH, Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee in Radiation Medicine at SIUH, and she is on the SIUH Women in Medicine Executive Committee. At the state level, she is a member of the NYS Cancer Detection and Education Program Advisory Council and at the national level, she is the Chair of the Advocacy Committee of ASTRO’s Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (HEDI) Council. She is an alumna of Northwell Health’s Physician Leadership Development Program, the MAP-IT Program, and the Northwell/Cornell Executive Leadership Development Program.
She earned her medical degree at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor and completed her residency training in radiation oncology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Abramson Cancer Center. Dr. Madu has a primary interest in adult cancers. She is proficient in several technological advances in the field of radiation medicine. She is a firm believer in multidisciplinary patient care and ensures collaboration with other physicians from other departments to improve treatment outcomes for cancer patients. Dr. Madu plays an active role in medical student and resident education, mentorship, research, and the development of strategies aimed at eliminating healthcare disparities for all patients.
She has been an invited lecturer at National/Regional Oncology Conferences. She is a member of several professional societies including The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO), American Society for Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Radium Society (ARS), and the American Board of Radiology (ABR).
Syliva A. Reyes, MD, MBS, FACS

Sylvia A. Reyes, MD, MBS, FACS is a fellowship-trained Breast Surgeon with board certification in General Surgery. She earned her medical degree and a master of biomedical sciences degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) and Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. She then completed a clinical research fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, a residency in general surgery at NJMS, and a clinical fellowship in breast surgical oncology at the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center. Dr. Reyes works as a clinical breast surgeon at the Zuckerberg Cancer Center and serves as the Director of Breast Services Health Equity Programs and Co-Director of the NAPBC accreditation program for LIJ/NSUH. As a breast surgeon, she performs oncoplastic breast conserving surgery, nipple sparing mastectomies, and hidden scar surgery for benign and malignant breast disease. She has published in reputable journals and been recognized for her clinical research in breast cancer and health disparities. She has served as a founding member of the Health Equity Advisory Group for the American Society of Breast Surgeons and most recently published in the Annals of Surgical Oncology Landmark Series addressing disparities in breast cancer screening in Black Women.
