Her clinical practice focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of autoimmune disease in pediatric patients, in particular, systemic lupus. As lupus affects more females than males at every age, and can have debilitating effects on quality of life, Dr Hui-Yuen addresses women\u2019s health and wellness in the treatment plans for her lupus patients.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Hui-Yuen is a clinician-scientist at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research (FIMR), whose primary research is focused on environmental effects on the genomes of children, adolescents and young adults with systemic lupus. Her research has been published in high\u2010impact, peer\u2010reviewed journals, most notably Proceedings of the National Academic Societies. Her research has been, and is, funded by the National Institutes of Health, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and private foundations including the Rheumatology Research Foundation and the Arthritis Foundation-Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Hui\u2010Yuen is passionate about mentoring trainees and junior faculty.
