She later served as the Executive Director of Lenox Hill Hospital and was responsible for the quality of patient care, safety and day-to-day operations. Under Dr. Kalman\u2019s leadership, Lenox Hill elevated its reputation as a regional, national and global destination for top quality tertiary care. She and her team significantly expanded the breadth of clinical programs, successfully recruited physician talent and grew patient volume.\u00a0 She was instrumental in successfully leading the Lenox Hill response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its recover efforts and achieving 91<sup>st<\/sup> percentile in the most recent Workforce Engagement Survey. Lenox Hill also received the coveted Magnet status last year for its commitment to nursing excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kalman was also the Medical Director for the Office of Patient and Customer Experience for Northwell Health, in which she lead the initiative for the physician\u2019s role in the patient experience.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Kalman is an expert in congestive heart failure and has published extensively in that area. She began her career on the faculty at Mount Sinai Hospital. She also started and developed the Heart Failure Program at Beth Israel Medical Center and was subsequently recruited to New York University Medical Center as director of the Cardiomyopathy Program and chief of cardiac services of Tisch Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>In 2007, she returned to Mount Sinai as the Director of the Cardiomyopathy Program, where she oversaw quality, patient safety and health care delivery initiatives, broadly across the medical center. She was the Physician Leader for Readmission Reduction Initiatives, and the Medical Director of the Preventable Admissions Care Team (PACT), an innovative transitional care program that focuses on complex patients and their psychosocial drivers of readmission. Mieres, MD, is a professor of Cardiology and Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra Northwell. As Senior Vice President of Northwell Health\u2019s, Center for Equity of Care, she has oversight of and provides strategic guidance for Northwell\u2019s diversity and health equity initiatives and serves as the health system\u2019s first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer. Under Dr Mieres\u2019 leadership Northwell Health has been recognized as a top Health system for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, most notably by Diversity Inc. as a \u201ctop 10\u201d healthcare institution for a measurable commitment to health care justice. Northwell Health has been in the top 10 list for 9 consecutive years and recognized as number one in 2020, 2021and 2022.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A graduate of Bennington College and Boston University School of Medicine; she is a Fellow of The American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), and Master of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) and served as the first female President of the ASNC in 2009.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dr. Mieres\u2019 clinical focus and research are centered on the elimination of health and gender disparities and cardiovascular disease in women. She is member of Northwell\u2019s Katz institute of Women\u2019s Health steering committee and is a leading advocate for Women\u2019s Cardiovascular Health, patient-centered healthcare and medical education reform. Dr Mieres has authored\/co-authored over 65 scientific publications, including as lead author of the 2005 and 2014 AHA cardiac imaging guidelines for women. As an international speaker, she has presented her research as distinguished faculty at over 100 forums and conferences: both nationally and internationally including scientific sessions of the ACC, AHA, ASNC, the International Conference of Nuclear Cardiology and IHI\/BMJ International Forum on Quality &amp; Safety in Healthcare.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A true patient and community advocate; Dr. Mieres is actively involved in service. She serves on the ACC\u2019s Diversity and Inclusion committee, is a national spokesperson for AHA\u2019s Go Red For Women movement and has served as chair of several national AHA committees, as well as the Scientific Advisory Board for WomenHeart.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">A prolific communicator; Dr Mieres recently co-authored <span class=\"s1\">Heart Smarter for Women; Six weeks to a Healthier Heart <\/span><span class=\"s2\">(Advantage 2022 ) and <\/span>Reigniting The Human Connection : A Pathway to Diversity Inclusion and HealthEquity <span class=\"s2\">(Forbes 2022).Her previous book, <\/span>Heart Smart for Women: Six S.T.E.P.S IN Six Weeks to Heart Healthy Living <span class=\"s2\">was <\/span><span class=\"s2\">published in October 2017 and the Spanish version of \u201c<\/span>Heart Smart\u201d, Un Corazon Saludable Para La Mujer Moderna: Seis P.A.S.O.S en Seis Semanas para Mantener La Salud Del Corazon <span class=\"s2\">in February 2019. Following her Emmynominated <\/span>documentary A Woman\u2019s Heart, (2001); her creative ingenuity has evolved as an executive producer of a two-part documentary series Rx: The Quiet Revolution and Rx: Doctors of Tomorrow, (2015). The films have forged a change in the health care narrative while garnering placement on national TV network PBS and in educational institutions. She is an Executive producer of the award winning women\u2019s health documentary \u201c Ms.Diagnosed\u201d which premiered at the Cinequest film festival on March 7, 2020. Dr. Rosen is a leading expert in the field of cardiovascular disease in women\u2019s and oversees women&#8217;s health services at Northwell Health with a focus on the elimination of healthcare disparities through comprehensive clinical programs, gender-based research, community partnerships and education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: black;\">Dr. Rosen has been a practicing cardiologist for over 30 years and co-authored the new book, Heart Smarter for Women: Six Weeks to a Healthier Heart published in 2022. She also co-produced her first documentary titled \u201cMs.Diagnosed\u201d which premiered at the Cinequest film festival in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\" style=\"font-size: 13.5pt; color: black;\">A longtime volunteer for the American Heart Association (AHA),she has served in leadership roles at the local, regional and national level. Under her leadership, the health system\u2019s medical group has more than doubled in size, with over 4,000 employed physicians in Northwell Health Physician Partners, now among one of the largest medical groups in the country. \u00a0In addition, the health system operates over 850 ambulatory sites in the region.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 25 years of experience developing and implementing strategies to facilitate programmatic growth and development, Mrs. Schiff remains focused on building a network of providers and ambulatory venues to manage the health of more than 12 million people in the health system&#8217;s service area. \u00a0A cornerstone of the ambulatory network remains strengthening and expanding relationships with the approximately 12,000 affiliated physicians serving our communities.
