She received her bachelors of Nursing from Georgetown University and a Masters of Science in Nursing in Trauma\/ Critical Care from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She is also actively involved in the American College of Rheumatology as a member of the executive board and the Immediate Past President of the Association of Rheumatology Professionals.
