Dr. Eugenia Gianos is the director of Women s Heart Health at Lenox Hill Hospital and director of Cardiovascular Prevention for Northwell Health. As a clinical cardiologist with expertise in preventive cardiology, lipidology, imaging and women s heart disease, she sees patients with various cardiovascular diseases and has a specific interest in those with a genetic predisposition or heart disease, at a young age, lipid disorders, complex coronary disease, and uncontrolled risk factors for heart disease. Her main goal through education, research and clinical care is to recognize those patients at risk for cardiovascular disease and use lifestyle programs and optimal individualized medical therapy to improve patient outcomes and quality of life.

After earning an undergraduate degree in psychiatry from Barnard College at Columbia, Dr. Gianos earned her medical degree from New York Medical College. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as her fellowship in cardiology at Northwell s Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Gianos holds board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, echocardiography and nuclear cardiology and she is certified in lipidology through the National Lipid Association. Dr. Gianos comes to Lenox Hill from NYU Langone Health (Bellevue and Tisch Hospitals), where she held various clinical and administrative roles of progressive responsibility for the past 11 years. In her first years at NYU, she won a cardiology faculty teaching award and most recently, served as co-clinical director of the NYU Langone Center for the Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease, associate professor of medicine at the NYU School of Medicine, and director of the NYU Preventive Cardiology fellowship program. In addition, she was an active member of the hospital s women s heart group. Dr. Gianos s experiences at NYU over the past 11 years have prepared her well to return to the health system she considered home with a clear vision for advancing patient-centered care.

Dr. Katz completed her internship and residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and served as Chief cardiology fellow at Westchester medical Center. Trained as an invasive cardiologist she was the first female attending cardiologist to perform angiography procedures at Westchester medical center. For the next 14 years she continued to diagnose coronary disease in the Cath lab all the while interested in how to prevent this disorder completely. She now practices preventive cardiology and lifestyle management. Her Northwell practice is in Briarcliff Manor New York. She is passionate about nutrition, stress management and exercise. She understands personally and professionally the intricacies of women’s health and wellness. Partnering with her patients she acts as an ambassador for good health, working as a team to aid individuals achieve optimal health through both medical and integrative modalities.

Dr. Katz is a senior attending cardiologist at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow New York where she served as interim chair of cardiology in 2022. She is also on the medical staff of Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, New York. She is an assistant professor in the Department of cardiology of Hofstra University Zucker school of medicine. She is an active member of the National lipid Association and founding member of the Katz Institute for women’s health.

Jennifer H. Mieres MD, is the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs and a professor of cardiology, at The Zucker School of Medicine. She is a graduate of Bennington College and Boston University School of Medicine; is a Fellow of The American Heart Association (AHA), American College of Cardiology (ACC), and Master of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC) and served as the first female President of the ASNC in 2009.
Dr Mieres is a Senior Vice President of Northwell Health’s, Center for Equity of Care, and serves as the health system’s first Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, with oversight of all diversity and health equity initiatives and is a member of the Katz Institute for Women’s Health at Northwell Health.
Dr. Mieres’ clinical focus and research are centered on the elimination of health and gender disparities and cardiovascular disease in women. She is a leading advocate for patient-centered healthcare and medical education reform and has authored/co-authored over 60 scientific and peer reviewed publications, including as lead author of the 2005 and 2014 AHA cardiac imaging guidelines for women. As an international speaker, she has presented her research as distinguished faculty at over 100 forums and conferences: both nationally and internationally including scientific sessions of the ACC, AHA, ASNC, the International Conference of Nuclear Cardiology and IHI/BMJ International Forum on Quality & Safety in Healthcare. A true patient and community advocate; Dr. Mieres is actively involved in service and served as chair of several national AHA committees as well as the Scientific Advisory Board for WomenHeart. A prolific communicator; Mieres recently co-authored Heart Smart for Women: Six S.T.E.P.S IN Six Weeks to Heart-Healthy Living, published in October 2017 and the Spanish version of the book, Un Corazon Saludable Para La Mujer Moderna -Seis P.A.S.O.S en Seis Semanas Para Mantener La Salud Del Corazon published January 2019.Following her Emmy-nominated documentary A Woman’s Heart, (2001); her creative ingenuity has evolved as an executive producer of a two-part documentary series Rx:The Quiet Revolution and Doctors of Tomorrow, (2015). The films have forged a change in narrative while garnering placement on national TV network PBS and in educational institutions. Dr Mieres also executive produced the award winning women’s health documentary ‘Ms.Diagnosed’, which premiered at the Cinequest film festival on March 7, 2020.

Dr. Guy L. Mintz is the Director of Cardiovascular Health & Lipidology at the Sandra Atlas Bass Heart Hospital at North Shore University Hospital, and Co-Director of the Lipid Center at North Shore University Hospital. He is the Director of Lipid Apheresis at North Shore University Hospital. Recognized as a national expert in Lipidology, he serves on the Board of Directors of the National Lipid Association. He is the Chairman of the membership committee for the National Lipid Association. He is the President-Elect for the Northeast Lipid Association. Dr. Mintz serves as Chief of the Advisory Board for Practical Cardiology.
He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine.
Dr. Mintz is board certified in Cardiology, Internal medicine, Lipidology and Obesity medicine.
He has served as a preceptor and mentor to medical students, residents and fellows.

Stacey Rosen, MD, is senior vice president for the Katz Institute for Women’s Health (KIWH), which focuses on the elimination of health care disparities through comprehensive clinical programs, gender-based research, community partnerships and education. Dr. Rosen is responsible for a comprehensive and integrated approach to women’s health.

Dr. Rosen is a practicing cardiologist. She was previously associate chair of the Department of Cardiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, and director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program.

Dr. Rosen is the Partners Council Professor of Women’s Health and Professor of Cardiology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She is a volunteer for the American Heart Association with leadership positions at the local, regional and national levels — she serves as a member of the Scientific Advisory Council for WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, and was previously a member of the Roundtable on Health Literacy at the National Academy of Medicine.

Dr. Rosen is a co-author of the 2018 book Heart Smart for Women, Six S.T.E.P.S. in Six Weeks to Heart-Healthy Living, which equips women of all ages with a comprehensive program for heart-healthy living.

Dr. Rosen is a graduate of the six-year medical program at Boston University School of Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians and the America Heart Association.

Dr. Christopher Tanayan (MD) is a board-certified cardiologist in Internal Medicine, Echocardiography and Cardiovascular Disease.

In addition to general cardiology, Dr. Tanayan completed a Sports Cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital’s Cardiovascular Performance Program and specializes in providing comprehensive care for the Athlete’s Heart. He encourages his active, athletic and want-to-be athletic patients to pursue their performance goals with appropriate risk estimation and modulation. Part of this evaluation involves understanding his patients’ exercise physiology via Cardio-Pulmonary Exercise Testing (CPET, aka VO2 max test).

He works closely with sports medicine researchers at the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma (NISMAT) in Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH) to provide excellent care for his athlete patients.

He is also expanding his role in Preventive Cardiology and incorporates lifestyle and clinical lipidology into his general cardiology practice.
