Daniela Barreto, is a physical therapist at Glen Cove Hospital with 12 years of experience, predominantly treating persons with neurological disorders. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 2007 and became a Doctor of Physical Therapy by completing the physical therapy program at Columbia University in 2010. She earned her ABPTS Board Certification in Neurology in 2018 and became a Certified Brain Injury Specialist through the BIAA in 2021. She serves as an item writer for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy, has lectured at continuing education conferences, and is an adjunct faculty member at New York Institute of Technology’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. She actively treats persons with Parkinson’s Disease at Northwell Health’s Glen Cove Hospital’s inpatient rehabilitation facility Parkinson’s unit, and has assisted in program development and staff education and training regarding the management of persons with Parkinson’s Disease. In 2022 she completed Parkinson’s Foundation Team Training. She was accepted to the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy’s Knowledge Translation Summit for the 2023
combined sections meeting pre-conference for the proposal “Implementation of the American Physical Therapy Association Clinical Practice Guideline Related to Physical Therapy Management of Parkinson’s Disease in Inpatient Rehabilitation.”

Angela Cirami is the Director of Rehabilitation Services at Glen Cove Hospital.  She holds degrees in Exercise and Sports Science and Occupational Therapy from The Pennsylvania State University and Stony Brook University respectively.   Angela spent the majority of her career as an Occupational Therapist, specifically in the area of adult inpatient rehabilitation, working with the neurological population.  In 1999 she began working at a Huntington Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and in 2003 moved to the Hospital for Joint Diseases in NYC.  A later merger with NYU brought her to Rusk Rehabilitation, where she remained until 2021. Throughout her 18 years there, she was afforded great professional and leadership opportunities and completed her last 9 years at Rusk Rehabilitation as the Program Manager of the Occupational Therapy Department.  Making the move to Northwell, another large health system, as the Director of an Inpatient Rehabilitation Department has been the highlight of her career.  She has great appreciation of the resources at Northwell which allow us to push beyond boundaries to deliver the highest level of care to our patients.  The growth of the Rehabilitation Department which services both acute medical surgical and acute inpatient rehab patients bring great excitement and pride to her work each and every day.

Pietrina Fischetti has been a speech language pathologist since 2006 working in acute care
neurologic rehabilitation and specializes in speech, language, voice, cognitive and swallowing disorders in the adult population. Pietrina has been involved in the development of the Parkinson's Disease acute rehabilitation program at Glen Cove Hospital and has received extensive training in Parkinson's specific disorders. Pietrina is trained in the Parkinson's Foundation "Allied Team Training for Parkinsons," Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, Myofascial Release for swallowing and "SPEAK OUT (r)" voice amplification program developed by the Parkinson's Voice Project. Pietrina received her Masters degree from CUNY Queens College in 2006 and has been a graduate student clinical instructor since 2011.

A Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, Susan Maltser, DO specializes in treating cancer patients. Dr. Maltser helps patients return to their previous level of function by treating their pain or any disability from cancer diagnosis through their cancer treatment and beyond. Common conditions that she treats are post-mastectomy pain, lymphedema, shoulder pain, weakness, and difficulty with daily activities. Common cancer types that she encounters are cancers of the breast, head and neck, brain, spine and sarcomas. Working with a multi-disciplinary team including physical,
occupational, lymphedema and speech therapists, Dr. Maltser focuses on the highest quality of life for cancer patients and survivors.

Paul Mattis, Ph.D., ABPP-CN is the Chief of Neuropsychology within the Department of Neurology at North Shore University Hospital/Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He is also the Director of Neuropsychology Training, Department of Neurology, and Associate Director of the Clinical Neuropsychology Internship Track.

Dr. Mattis obtained his Ph.D. in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Houston. He completed his clinical internship within the Pediatric Neuropsychology/Family Crisis track at North Shore University Hospital, and his postdoctoral fellowship was completed within the Department of Neurology at Stony Brook University Hospital. He returned to the North Shore University Hospital in 1996. He is board certified in clinical neuropsychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Dr. Mattis’s clinical work continues to be lifespan, working with individuals across the developmental spectrum. Within the Neuroscience Institute of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, his research has focused on the relationship between cognitive functioning and metabolic brain networks using FDG-PET in Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. He holds the rank of Associate Professor of Neurology at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Dr. Mattis has served in multiple national and New York state leadership roles. He is currently a member of the board of directors of the New York State Association of Neuropsychology, but previously served on board of directors of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology and served as a board memory and President of the Association for Internship Training in Clinical Neuropsychology and the New York Neuropsychology Group.

Since joining Northwell Health in 2017, Steven V. Pacia, MD has become the Chairman of Neurology at Glen Cove Hospital, Vice Chairman of Neurology at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center and the Director for Neurology for the Eastern Region for Northwell Health. Dr. Pacia was previously with NYU Comprehensive Epilepsy Center and prior to this was Director of Neurology at Lenox Hill Hospital for 12 years. Dr. Pacia has been awarded a number of grants to support his research and was the principal site investigator for the first multicenter NIH-funded study of epilepsy surgery. He has authored many peer-reviewed articles on the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy and he co-authored the book Alternative Therapies For Epilepsy, which provides an evidence-based review of complementary and alternative therapies for care of the epilepsy patient.
