Khalida Itriyeva, MD, FAAP is an attending physician in the Division of Adolescent Medicine at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from New York University and subsequently received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She completed both her residency and fellowship training at Cohen Children’s Medical Center, and is board certified in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. Her interests within adolescent medicine include eating disorders, menstrual disorders, contraception, reproductive and sexual health, and mental health.
Lynda Martinez has been a registered nurse at the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Program in Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Northwell Health since 2018. She received her BSN from New York University in May 1990 and worked for 28 years as a Certified Pediatric Oncology Nurse. During those years, she developed a passion for Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. In 2015, she decided to pursue a master’s in nursing education from St. Joseph’s University in Patchogue, N.Y. After graduating in 2018, she accepted a position as Adjunct Professor and later became a Certified Nurse Educator. She is actively involved in the HTC’s Girls and Women’s Clinic and is also a member of the Foundation for Women and Girls with Blood Disorders’ Education/Advocacy Committee.
Mabel Origho is a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Northwell Health Hemostasis and Thrombosis Center. She currently works on phase III and IV clinical trials, and observational studies. She is responsible for all research related activities, ensuring they are performed adhering to good clinical practice guidelines in accordance with federal regulations, institutional, and sponsoring agency policies and procedures. She received her Master in Public at Hofstra University, and her Medical training at Spartan Health Science University.
Jessica Rubin, MD, FACOG is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist with a clinical focus in adolescent and pediatric gynecology. She is a faculty physician with Northwell Health, practicing in Great Neck and Long Island City, NY. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell and a member of the North American Society of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology. She attended medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and completed her residency at North Shore University Hospital, where she still practices.

I am an Assistant Professor for Pediatric Hematology and an Attending physician with the Division of Hemostasis and Thrombosis at Northwell Health. I completed my graduate medical training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in June 2021. My primary research interest started during my Fellowship. Understandably, as a physician in training, I engaged in answering different research questions to broaden my learning and understanding.
My current research projects include basic science and clinical research projects in Pediatric Hematology. I have several completed and ongoing clinical research projects in hemostasis and thrombosis. I am analyzing real world data for the use of emicizumab in patients with Hemophilia. The preliminary findings were presented at the annual American Society of Hematology meeting, 2020 and a manuscript is being draft currently. I studied the role of a novel transcription factor Irf5 in mammalian erythropoiesis. The preliminary findings from studying erythropoiesis and erythroblastic islands in wild type and Irf5-/- global knockout C57Bl6 mice suggests a crucial role of Irf5 in erythropoiesis at both steady and stress states. This role is mediated through the polarization of macrophages which are central to the anatomic and functioning subunits of erythropoiesis – the erythroblastic islands. Preliminary findings for this project have been presented at the annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology as an oral abstract and was awarded the abstract achievement award. I am also involved in clinical research in pediatric HLH. Particularly, the use of anakinra, the outcomes and the role of genetic variants in the pathogenesis of related disorders. Some of these works have been published as listed below:
Lastly, I also serve as the Associate P As a junior faculty in Hematology, I continue to further my academic interests in hematology, hemostasis and thrombosis.
